To use the Digital Jockey's controls, you have to activate it in the
djDecks configuration. To do this, open the options window, and
select the General tab, then click XML Config.
There you can select reloop_digitaljockey.xml for the Reloop Digital Jockey controller and click Connect.
Basic control is the same as in Traktor, but there are a few key differences.
-The shift button is used to switch to deck 3 and 4 for all controls, so also equalizer, loops, ....
-Hold the Scratch button for a second to enable pitch bend mode,
Hold the Search button for a second to disable the jog wheels.
-Use the play/pause button and the cue button the same as the on-screen buttons,
depending on your selected cue mode. The CUP button is used to select stored cue points.
-Effects are arranged different, see later in this document.
-Loops work different, see later in this document.
-The Sync button will adjust the pitch to
match the other decks' bpm. Holding the button for more than a second
and then releasing it will also synchronize the position of the beats.
-The Keylock button will activate master tempo, holding it for more than a second
will reset the pitch to 0%.
To load a previously saved cue point, hold the CUP button, and then press one of the six flashing jog mode buttons.
The top row are the first four cue points, the bottom two are cue points 5 and 6.
Loop In will set the start point of a custom loop, Loop Out will set the end point and start the loop.
The loop will automatically be aligned to a whole number of beats.
Holding the Auto Loop button and pressing certain other buttons allows you to modify a loop, or create a new one.
In combination with the top 4 jog mode buttons, it will activate/deactivate a loop with length 2,4,8 or 16 beats.
In combination with the bottom 2 jog mode buttons, it will halve or double the length of the current loop.
In combination with the jog wheel, it can be used to move a loop forward or backward.
Selecting the effect you want to control can be done using the Loop Active (FX SEL) button.
Hold it and then press one of the 6 jog mode buttons. The top row effects are flanger, echo, bitcrusher and filter.
Flanger
-FX ON will toggle the effect on or off, the knob above it increases or decreases the strength of the effect.
-The knob above Activate 3 will select the length of the flanger
-The Activate 3 button will stop the flanger from moving.
Echo
-The knob above FX ON will increase the FX strength. If you move it to fully on, the source sound will be disabled.
-The FX ON button instantly toggles the echo off, or switches to a full echo without source sound when pressed when the echo is off.
-The knob above Activate 3 selects the length of the echo
-The Activate 3 button turns on or off the source sound
-Pressing the knob above the activate 3 button locks the echo buffer
Bitcrusher
-The FX On button toggles the effect on or off
-The knob above the FX On button changes the downsampling effect
-The knob above Activate 3 changes the bit-depth
Filter
-The FX ON button toggles the effect on or off
-The knob above the FX On button filters the frequencies from low to high from left to right or from high to low from right to left
-The knob above activate 3 changes the resonance of the filter
